Coroplast opens new plant in Moldova

This year, Coroplast will be opening a new plant in the Republic of Moldova. The Wuppertal-based specialist for cables and wiring, cable assemblies and technical adhesive tapes is thus creating several hundred jobs in the south-east of the country.

“Over the last few decades, our company has grown tremendously, not only in Germany, but also internationally. With this investment in a new location we remain firmly on course for worldwide growth”, said Natalie Mekelburger, Chairwoman of the Board of Management at Coroplast. The production building that Coroplast is planning in Căuşeni, Moldova, will provide approximately 9,000 square metres of floor space and is scheduled to go into operation in mid-2017. Up to 200 people are to be recruited this year and the number should increase to around 600 in the medium term.

„With the opening of this new facility we are very happy to additionally expand our global network and to forge ahead with our activities in the field of cable assemblies at an even greater pace than in the past.“

The new plant will mainly focus on the production of cable assemblies, one of Coroplast’s three core divisions. With its broad range of products, Coroplast not only supplies the automotive industry worldwide, but numerous other sectors as well, including the heating and sanitary sector, the automation industry and the medical technology sector.
