When it comes to gliding, state-of-the-art adhesive tapes are a decisive factor in achieving maximum performance.
Only the optimal airstream guarantees a glider’s best performance and makes it possible to get the maximum benefit from the ultra-modern aerofoils and their surfaces. This is where cutting-edge adhesive tape technology comes in, as special serrated tapes force smooth currents to become turbulent airstreams at the right point in order to reduce air resistance. Particularly thin, special-purpose tapes bridge over the transitions from the wings to the rudders, which are constantly in motion. And in order to bond the joints between the fuselage and the wings, extra-flexible, elastic and definitely white adhesive tapes are called for, such as Coroplast 302.
Extremely durable
The material needs to meet very high standards. Apart from the high speeds, the temperature differences play a major role, too. Although the aircraft leaves the ground at temperatures between 10 °C and 30 °C, once in the air they can fluctuate between –50 °C and +30 °C, thus adding thermal stress to the mechanical. With its extensive range of technical adhesive tapes, Coroplast has ideal solutions for sophisticated applications in the world of gliding.
