New sponsor of the Deutschlandstipendium
Coroplast has been sponsoring the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship scheme since 2017. We want to use this opportunity to demonstrate our social responsibility and support the high-achieving professionals of the future by helping excellent students to exploit their full potential. At the end of January, we were able to welcome our first two scholarship students to our headquarters in Wuppertal to get to know them and have an informal chat.

The Deutschlandstipendium supports students of any subject who not only demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, but also social commitment – just like the two scholarship students who Coroplast has been supporting since the winter semester. André Garbers, a master’s student in electrical engineering at Ruhr University Bochum would perhaps like to study for his doctorate upon completion of his studies. In addition to studying, he is a volunteer firefighter in the town of Sundern. Marco Braun, a master’s student in industrial engineering at Bergische University Wuppertal, is part of the university’s Formula Student racing team and wants to pursue a career in the development and marketing of new technologies when he finishes studying.
„Before I got to know the company better as part of the scholarship, I had heard of the name Coroplast, but I didn’t know that the company had such a wide range of products. My first impression is one of a dynamic family company with a real innovative spirit.“
Following a brief company presentation, the visit in January took both scholarship students on an extensive tour of the adhesive tape and cable production facilities at the headquarters in Wuppertal. After everyone enjoyed lunch together, the students even got to meet Natalie Mekelburger, Chairwoman of the Board of Management, to talk about the future of the industry as well as the latest developments in a relaxed atmosphere. We are pleased that the Deutschlandstipendium gives us the opportunity to make a key contribution to supporting education in the region.
